Quality Engineer, Electromechanical, Rural lower Midwest.
- Requires a BS Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology or equivalent, and a minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience, strong preference for Appliance or HVAC background. CQE, CRE, CQA, or CMI is a big plus. Six Sigma training is a big plus. ISO 9000 Lead Internal Auditor is a plus.

· Designs, installs and evaluates QA/QC processes, sampling systems, procedures and statistical techniques.
· Designs or specifies inspection and test mechanisms for manufacturing environment.
· Performs capability studies on assembly and manufacturing processes.
· Prepares quality plans for new product launches. Performs failure analysis and recommends corrective action.
· Conducts training on QA/QC concepts.
· Supports plant ISO registration.
· Analyzes production limitations and standards.
· Recommends revision of specification when indicated.
· Formulates or assists in formulating quality control policies and procedures.
· Recommends corrective action necessary to insure conformity with quality specification standards.

Quality Test Engineer, Electromechanical, Rural lower Midwest.
- Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent, and a minimum 3 years manufacturing experience. Electric/Electrical hardware interface. Experience with CAT or electronic/electrical test in a manufacturing environment.

· Supports production by identifying and resolving test problems in hardware and software involving test equipment finished units, subassemblies, processes, systems and/or procedures.
· Supports new/re-design development programs by selecting, designing and implementing Computer Aided Testing (CAT) and electronic/electrical testing processes, systems, tools, equipment and procedures for unit and subassembly test including schedule and budget estimates.
· Trains and instructs factory personnel in CAT and electronic/electrical testing techniques including read schematics, connection diagrams, etc.; troubleshooting, safety techniques, ergonomics, material handling and product assembly.
· Utilizes computers for creating programs, word processing, spreadsheets, PSC, data base creation and /or maintenance and CAD to create equipment, connection and schematic drawings.
· Able to grow into supervisory role directing Engineers and Technicians.
· Prepares reports and special test documentation.
Salary: $50K to $65K.
Assistant Chief Engineer, Rural South Central US.
- Must have experience in baking industry. Bread and roll experience is highly preferred. Well-rounded maintenance background but must be especially good on the electrical side. Experience with PLCs. No degree required.
- Reports to Chief Engineer in traditional baking facility. On call 24/7. Hours will vary. Shifts are from 6 AM to 2 PM, 2 PM to 10 PM and 10 PM to 6 AM. Responsible for works crews of 20 plus personnel in maintenance. Responsibilities include mixers, proofers and ovens. Large, stable company with good benefits.
Salary: $40K to $60K.
Maintenance Manager, Flexible Packaging, Midwest.
- Journeyman preferred, BS is a plus, but not required. Must be proficient and well rounded in leading a maintenance operation in a high-volume, large plant. This would include:
Analysis of equipment problems to identify root cause of problems and the implementation of corrective actions.
Experienced in establishing preventive maintenance programs.
Project management skills of planning tasks, obtaining resources, the application of those resources, and the completion of the projects in a timely manner.
Possess a strong sense of urgency, and the ability to transmit that sense of urgency to the Maintenance Team in a constructive fashion.
Ability to set clear goals and expectations for self and for direct reports.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Must currently reside in IA, NE, IL or MO.
- This position reports to the Engineering Manager in a high-volume, automated web press facility, which operates in a multi-shift environment. Reporting to this position are 25 associates, including 22 skilled mechanics and electricians. The Maintenance Manager will lead this group which is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to the equipment. Other responsibilities include budgeting and inventory of spare parts, repair items and maintenance supplies, upgrading the skill basis of the department’s personnel, and further development of the preventive maintenance program.
Salary: Mid to upper $50K’s.
Packaging/Project Engineer, Food Processing, Midwest.
- BS Engineering required. Minimum 10 years experience. Requires knowledge of manufacturing practices and machine applications related to food manufacture and packaging. Must have ability to interpret, design and create drawings for projects. Must be knowledgeable of packaging using paper bags (sealed and sewn), poly bags, heat sealed bags, foil pack, zipper bags, conveyor systems, scales, and other associated equipment. Must be able to travel on projects for up to 3 weeks per trip.
- Analyze, design, plan, direct, coordinate and supervise assigned technical projects to meet plant performance targets, project expectations, project time lines and capital spending limits. Also provides technical leadership and expertise for various packaging platforms, as well as expertise in material/machinery interface.
1. Capable of handling multiple project assignments and coordinate projects to meet specific deadlines, targets or plant specific production requirements as they relate to planning projects for limited down time.
2. Applies standard engineering principles to analyze, plan and design assigned projects.
3. Develop project cost estimates and project time lines.
4. Responsible for preparing project bid specifications as required by the specific project or projects.
5. Ascertain and adopt all relevant requirements regarding building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, safety and OSHA regulations on all work assignments. Capable of designing and analyzing structural systems.
6. Specify, bid select, and purchase required equipment, parts and contract installation services for projects.
7. Prepare Capital Authorization Requests for new projects, systems, and maintenance projects and be able to track spending on assigned projects and be responsible for holding project to capital spending limits without sacrificing project quality, operational performance and time lines.
8. Monitor and supervise all work performed on the assigned projects, and monitor and properly code all invoices related to the projects.
9. Correct any project deficiencies that affect production, quality, and safety requirement prior to final evaluation and project reviews.
10. Understands unit operations as they pertain to packaging needs.
11. Maintains a working knowledge of packaging system improvements, equipment evaluation, packaging materials, products, material and machine interface.
12. Has working knowledge of servo applications, PLC controls and on-line sensor applications.
13. Designs and develops packaging platforms for current and future operations. Work to help standardize packaging design and facilitate packaging to better utilize equipment efficiencies.
14. Works with plants as well as with vendors in the installation of equipment.
15. Researches and submits capital approval requests for new applications and to improve existing platforms.
16. Work with and develop or direct the completion of drawings for specifically assigned projects.
17. Work with suppliers or vendors to purchase required items.
18. Work with Autocad (Computer Aided Drafting software) to assist in the development and/or preparation of required project drawings.
19. Work with or familiar with Tops Pro - Packaging software.
Salary: $50K - $60K.
Process/Project Engineer, Food Processing, Midwest.
- Requires minimum BS in Agricultural, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 10 years experience. Requires a broad range of experience in process manufacturing from raw materials receiving and handling, process, packaging, and finished goods warehousing. Equal knowledge is required in the areas of dry and liquids handling and processing, and instrumentation and controls.
- Key Result Areas:
Provide process engineering design and review for capital projects.
Provide technical process assistance to operating facilities, and technically advise other group engineers.
Provide process-engineering support to divisional process improvement efforts, including systems analysis, scope development, and evaluation of alternate technologies and methods.
Provide project engineering for developmental projects and for capital projects on special assignment (with assistance from regional and central engineering).
Assist regional and central engineering, and R&D in specifically assigned areas of process design, development, and evaluation.
- Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Conceives, plans and implements investigation and analysis in problem areas or areas of significant opportunity for process improvement, of considerable scope and complexity. Development must be approached through a series of complete and conceptually related studies and are difficult to define. Requires unconventional or novel approaches and ability to collaborate with and coordinate activities of cross-functional teams. 2. Advise operating staffs, project teams, and other group engineers relative to technical process issues and problems. 3. Serves as the technical specialist in the application of advance theories, concepts, principals, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility (i.e. subject matter, function, type of facility or equipment, or product). Keeps abreast of new methods and developments affecting the Division for the purpose of recommending changes in emphasis of programs or new programs warranted by such developments. 4. Assist R&D in development and implementation of process controls and specifications.
Salary: $50K - $60K.
Electrical Controls Engineer, Automated Processing Machinery, upper Midwest.
- Requires a BSEE, a strong personality and from 2 to 15 years of experience in programming machine controls (PLC’s: A-B, GE and Mitsubishi). Experience required with servo drives and/or variable frequency drives, circuit board design, troubleshooting, and C / C+ and/or Assembly programming. Relay logic.
- Reporting to the Engineering Manager, will be responsible for designing and troubleshooting machine controls.
Salary: $45K - $75K, depending on experience.
